I'm always remembering old stuff from when I was a kid, you know the kind of stuff that you think about it out of the blue and you wonder if it was even real or if you imagined it.
Well, I found this one on YouTube. It was a little show called Robotman and Friends. I think is was poised to be some kind of international licensing thing, a cartoon with lots of tie-in toys and products, but it never got very far. Believe it or not, this came out a year before Short Circuit and as far as I know there were only two 45 minute shows - a sort of syndicated pilot. The characters are cute and look a little akin to mechanical Care Bears, and some of their methods are very Care Bear like. They are from a place called Robotland and it also reminds me of Care-A-Lot. Amazingly enough, these two shows came out the same year! Weird.
The second of the two shows is posted online. I wish they had the first one up. I rememebr it being a lot more interesting and likely had some good explanation about the bad guy and his motives.

Later parts are listed there.
Kinda cute.
